The IHSI Research Development team will be facilitating peer accountability writing groups beginning summer 2021 for associate professors who are interested in applying for funding through the NSF Mid-Career Advancement (MCA) program. The MCA aims to provide a means for scientists and engineers at the associate professor rank (or equivalent) to substantively enhance and advance their research program through synergistic and mutually beneficial partnerships, typically at an institution other than their home institution.

The peer accountability writing groups will help keep the faculty participants on task during the writing process and provide support from faculty peers and Research Development team members to strengthen their proposals. Participants will set writing goals, keep group members accountable for their goals, and provide feedback on writing samples from their group.

Illinois associate professors who have been at that ranking for three or more years are invited to complete an interest form to be matched with a group. All forms must be submitted by May 31, 2021
